For games like Meowdoku, compare placement rules before names or artwork. Plainoku is an independent Cat Sudoku experience with Queens-style placement rules: one cat per row, column and irregular color region, with no touching, including diagonals. It is not classic number sudoku and is not affiliated with the games below.

Which games like Meowdoku use similar placement rules?

These are specific products or implementations, not a ranking. The comparison distinguishes row, column, region and adjacency rules from platform and play format. We checked official sources and tried the public browser entries on October 10, 2026. The table labels what we actually operated, what comes from a developer description, and what we could not verify. A short session does not establish ad frequency, long-term reliability or every puzzle’s quality.

How do Miaudoku and Catdoku differ from Plainoku?

In Miaudoku, we opened Tutorial 1 of 5 and tapped the highlighted squares to add X marks. The board then advanced to an explanation of how a row reserves a colored region. That is a concrete learning difference: this tutorial explains exclusions while you act; Plainoku’s Hint reveals an answer position without explaining the deduction. The tutorial began with a starter cat and unlimited lives, so it is not evidence for the lives policy of regular or Challenge games. We did not finish the tutorial, test offline installation or establish a blanket advertising policy.

The Catdoku entry above refers only to Catdoku! Cat Logic Puzzles by Redeye Game on Apple’s store. The official listing identifies advertising, in-app purchases and a Remove Ads option. It advertises 800+ puzzles, 4 × 4–11 × 11 boards, daily challenges, logic hints and offline main progression. These are developer claims, not results from our own installation; we did not verify the puzzle count, hint quality, offline behavior or purchase benefits. Other Catdoku apps, portal games and developer versions are separate products; their pricing or features cannot be merged into this listing. Use the linked developer and app identity when deciding which version to install.

Are Queenzle and LinkedIn Queens chess puzzles?

These games use crowns and Queens-style placement constraints, but their no-touching rule is not an international-chess rule about attacking along an entire diagonal. Distant diagonal crowns are not excluded merely for sharing that diagonal. Queenzle’s linked Google Play listing discloses ads and in-app purchases, and describes handcrafted puzzles, daily challenges and no time limit. That makes it a documented app-campaign option rather than a browser option we tested. We did not install it or independently verify its unique-solution claim. LinkedIn’s Queens rules and games FAQ describe its daily format and member play, plus Hint, Undo, Auto-check and optional automatic X marks. Our attempt to open the public Queens game returned a browser response error before a playable board appeared. That is an access limitation of this test, not proof that every guest must log in. Its tools and daily expiry are documented features, not our hands-on findings.

When is Star Battle a useful cat-puzzle alternative?

Star Battle is a puzzle category, and the linked site is one web implementation. Check the selected star count before applying Plainoku habits. A two-star puzzle requires two stars, not one, in every row, column and region, while stars still cannot touch. More-star variants use the count shown. Shapeless mode removes the color-region condition. In our 5 × 5, one-star Normal trial, puzzle ID 1,453,711, the first click marked an X and the second placed a star. Pressing Done with only that star produced an error message rather than a successful finish. We tested entry and checking, not a complete solve. The site includes Remove Ads and Report This Ad controls; their presence does not establish ad frequency or the benefits of a purchase.

What does Plainoku offer instead?

Plainoku offers free browser puzzles and hints with no advertising or account flow, manual exclusion marks, keyboard navigation and five board sizes from 5 × 5 to 9 × 9. These sizes are not calibrated logical difficulty ratings. Its fixed daily is 6 × 6, with local completion deduplication and a daily streak. Hints reveal an answer position rather than explaining a deduction. Progress stays in the current browser rather than syncing through an account. In the live 5 × 5 trial we rejected analytics, placed a manual mark, undid it, requested a hint and reloaded: the hinted cat remained. Four more Hint clicks completed the board and displayed the win state. This checks assisted completion and persistence; it does not measure puzzle difficulty or claim an unassisted solve.

Choose based on the rules and format you want: an app campaign, a browser run, a daily crown puzzle, a multi-star challenge or a quiet practice board.
